German tax transparency law — the Plattformen-Steuertransparenzgesetz (PStTG), implementing the EU DAC7 Directive — may require platform operators like SettlyGo to collect certain information about providers (helpers) offering services through the platform and to report it annually to the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern (BZSt).
Address and date of birth are sourced from Stripe Connect onboarding where possible (data already collected and verified by Stripe during payout setup). The tax identification number is collected directly from the helper via the dashboard. Payout totals are derived from completed booking records.
Processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which SettlyGo is subject (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR), specifically the due-diligence and reporting obligations under §§ 12–23 PStTG.
Where reporting obligations apply, the required data is transmitted to the Bundeszentralamt für Steuern (BZSt) once per calendar year. Data is not shared with customers or other third parties for this purpose.
Tax and compliance data is retained for a minimum of 10 years from the end of the relevant reporting period, in line with German commercial and tax record-keeping requirements (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB).
Providing this information is a contractual requirement for helpers using the SettlyGo platform. Where required data is missing, payouts will be held until the information is complete. If a helper does not provide the required data after reasonable notice, SettlyGo may restrict the helper's ability to accept new paid bookings in accordance with § 23 PStTG.
Where SettlyGo determines that a helper is a reportable seller under PStTG, the helper will be informed before the first report is submitted to the BZSt. Helpers have the right to request a copy of the data reported about them.
